Telekinesis
By Ness
Telekinesis is nothing more than moving something, other than yourself, with your mind. It's a hard thing to figure out at first, but after you find something called a "trigger", it gets a lot easier.
First of all, you're going to be moving something with your mind. That's pretty hard to do. Imagine the amount of force needed to roll a pencil. Now imagine your MIND trying to meet that requirement. Seems impossible, doesn't it? Well, you're probably not going to see any progress for at least a few days, but each time you practice, you get a little stronger, and eventually, you'll be able to move the object.
Now, in this article, I will be using a psiwheel. A psiwheel is a square piece of paper folded so that it will balance and spin on the tip of something, such as a tack. This is very good to practice telekinesis with because there is so little friction between the psiwheel and tack. However, due to the lack of friction, you'll have to be very careful not to move it by accident, such as by breathing on it, moving too fast, etc.
All you need to make a psiwheel is a square piece of paper; preferably a small piece if you're a beginner. If you don't know how to make a psiwheel, there is a guide in the Pictures section.
After you've made the psiwheel, get something with a small point, such as a tack, nail, etc, and set it on a flat surface with the point sticking up. Place the center of the psiwheel on the point of the object you chose, and let go of it to make sure it's on there. Once you're sure it's balanced, you can continue.
This is where things get a little tricky. Clear your mind and relax. Stare at one corner of the psiwheel, and try to actually FEEL yourself nudging the psiwheel in the direction you want it to go. Feel yourself pushing it as hard as you can while staying relaxed and keeping a clear mind. While doing this, pay attention to any sort of "connection" you may feel between yourself and the psiwheel. A lot of people use this connection to move the object they're focusing on.
If you continue to focus on the psiwheel with the above method for a while but don't feel any sort of connection to the psiwheel, the above method may not be for you. Clear your mind and relax again. Stare at one point of the psiwheel again, but as you stare, visualize your energy moving from you to the corner of the psiwheel you're focusing on. Once the energy gets to the corner of the psiwheel, visualize it becoming an arrow and running into the psiwheel. Maintain the idea that the arrow is made of your power, and it is trying to push the psiwheel.
You should be able to see at least SOME progress with one of the above methods, but chances are that you'll need to find your own "trigger". A trigger is simply what turns your telekinesis on and off. For example, the arrow method above is my trigger. All I need to do is visualize the arrow and the psiwheel begins to move.
To find your trigger, you're going to have to experiment. Try pointing your fingers in the direction you want the psiwheel to move, or try visualizing your energy shooting from your hands and hitting the psiwheel, thus pushing it. Just fool around until you find a method that works well for you.
After you find a trigger, whatever it may be, it gets a lot easier. Now all you have to do is practice. Continue to use your trigger every day, if possible, and continue to get better at moving the psiwheel. Once you can move the psiwheel with almost no effort, try putting it under a glass and moving it. If you get tired of the psiwheel all together, try rolling a soda can, or something. The possibilities are almost endless.
That's basically it, but I'd like to make one last, MAJORLY IMPORTANT point. It is: even if the object doesn't move, you're still building skill. This is incredibly important to remember. For example, when I was beginning in telekinesis, I got pretty good at making the psiwheel move, so I put it under a glass and then tried to move it. It didn't move, and I was discouraged. Even though it didn't move, though, I was still getting a little bit better, and after some practice, I could make it twitch under the glass.
The point is; keep in mind that you ARE getting better, even if you don't see results right away. With practice, those results will come.
And that's it. Good luck, everyone!
NOTE FROM EDITOR: Hi, I’m AJ (the one who compiled this article together). Another way I found useful when practicing Telekinesis, is to get a string (like thread) and tie it to a key. Hold the end of the string with your one hand, and let the key dangle on the end of the rope. Make sure you keep your arm and the string still (this can be done by resting your elbow sturdy on a table), and try to get the key to swing. Chances are, since you are touching the string still, you will have better luck moving it with your mind. Try to make the key swing back and forth, than side to side; try to make it swing in a circle, then make it swing the other way. Once you think you are ready, you can let go of the string and have it hang from a nail or something; just make sure you are next to it. Eventually, move farther and farther away from the string until you are on the other side of the room and you can still move it.
